The admin of the Unofficial Pottermore Slytherin Common Room have finally managed to get onto Pottermore without issue. I don’t know whether it is now properly stable or whether it was sheer luck. Either way, all members who are waiting to be validated and who qualify for approval have been validated and now have full access to the common room.

If you have registered before the current time (September 29, 2011 at 9AM EST), but not yet been validated, then you will not be validated because you do not qualify based on the clear and firm rules set out by the Unofficial Pottermore Slytherin Common Room board.

I am thoroughly disappointed that Guests and Validating members who have limited access to the boards with very few topics are not able to hang around long enough to have a quick glance at the rules. I have very clearly underlined and bolded in several places that reading the rules is required for validation. Still, very few new registrations have read the rules.

This failure to follow rules has gotten so bad that there are currently 106 new registrations who I cannot approve. Previously, I had been sending PMs to every new registration who did not comply so that they could become aware of the steps they needed to take, but with the growing interest and amount of new registrations which occur on a regular basis, I am unable to do so because I do have a life with better things to do.

I even sent out a mass email to all the registrations a week ago. Not even 25% of those people responded to the email despite the subject line stating that immediate action was required and after setting a firm deadline by which to get back in touch with the admin. There are new registrations who registered 2 weeks ago and made no attempts at reading the rules despite being emailed.

As a result of the immense interest in accessing the Unofficial Pottermore Slytherin Common Room, the decision has been made to implement the Tough Love Policy. Anyone who does not comply with the rules - these rules can be found here - within 7 days after registering will have their account immediately denied approval and deleted. This will occur without any emails, notification, or advance warning. Those who get their accounts deleted will be allowed to reregister if they wish to do so at any point, but will not be validated until they have read and followed all the rules. If they fail a second time, their account will once again be deleted. They can continue to attempt registration if they want because no ban will be made, but they will not be contacted to give them a chance to fix the issue.

It is not fair to spend valuable time chasing after these people to get them to follow the rules as if they are toddlers. They manage to navigate the internet so they should be capable enough to read a set of rules and follow them. They are not difficult or complicated. Trying to validate such a large number of people is time consuming enough.

So beginning now, any members who have accounts pending registration for longer than 7 days will be deleted. First round of deleted accounts will occur in less than 5 minutes. You have been warned. THE ONLY EXCEPTION MADE WILL BE IN THE EVENT THAT THE ADMIN ARE UNABLE TO ACCESS POTTERMORE WITHIN 7 DAYS IN ORDER TO ENSURE ALL STEPS OF THE RULES HAVE BEEN FOLLOWED.
